Lessons learned? Nobel prize-winning economists warn of long-term damage after Brexit – better together :-)

Although this entire brexit affair has some Monty-Pythonesc characteristics (especially UKIP’s leader Farage behaves and looks more like a cartoon character than a politician – not unlike his populist counterpart Trump in the USA) it is becoming manifestly clear that for any country to leave the EU only has disadvantages. And not just historically or politically, but mainly for simple, plain economic reasons. The European countries are by now too far embedded in the Union. For any state to leave would be the same as Massachusetts leaving the USA; the rest of the world would simply shake their heads in disbelieve and switch channels.
For all the criticism against globalization, it is common sense that working together is better than doing it on your own.
One great thing about the brexit discussion is that all the arguments in favor of the EU have now been put to paper, for all skeptics to read. See the article below, as one example.
