New cover for my #eBook #CELETERRA

After the initial success of this adventure story, the designer and I decided on a new cover. I requested something simple, yet intriguing. How did we do?

By the way, do you know what the word CELETERRA means?

Excerpt from Celeterra:

Lumen had donned a long white gown, simple in appearance yet highly effectual. He had brushed his hair, making it stand out. He quickly walked over to the pedestals and poured liberal quantities of cannabis onto the coals. Then he sat down on the throne, straight yet relaxed. He practiced his smile and some hand movements.

Vance stared at Lumen. To his surprise, Lumen managed to look like a god – dignified, impressive even. He seemed cool and relaxed, without a trace of nervousness. Vance concluded that he was stoned up to his eyeballs, and that he probably considered the evening more fun that a three-ring circus.

Silently and slowly, Vance started to move to the right. He groped along the wall for the doorknob. As his hand found the metal, he turned it.

Eugene got up from the floor, ready for action.

Vance opened the door and stepped out. He pushed the curtain aside.

Lumen stared at him in disbelief. It could well be that he hadn’t known that there was a room behind the wall. In any case, Vance’s sudden appearance was obviously sufficient to shock him out of his marihuana buzz. He got halfway out of his chair and swallowed hard.

“It’s you! Scoundrel!”

Vance walked up to Lumen and hit him squarely under the chin with a powerful uppercut. It lifted the man into the air and he tumbled over the back of the throne. Lumen’s body collapsed on the floor. Vance looked down at him. Lumen was unconscious, a trail of blood running from his lower lip. Vance flexed his fingers to suppress the pain in his hand.

He sat down on the throne. Eugene had followed and Vance signaled the dog to jump onto one of the smaller chairs. They both looked at the closed curtains.

The lights in the hall became brighter and brighter. Vance had to cover his eyes to stop them from hurting. The music became louder too. Still, Vance could hear that people had started to arrive. Their feet shuffled about and they bumped against the drapes, but they didn’t speak.
